Love it or hate it you can’t ignore the presence in New Zealand of the “Global Trophy for Football Played With An Oval Shaped Ball Where Forward Passing Is Not Allowed”. I am choosing my words very carefully here as I don’t want the Society receiving a visit from the lawyers bearing a writ for trademark infringement of the Tournament’s official title.
Matches and supporting events are happening in Hamilton and around the country so if you are involved with this at any level whether as a spectator, volunteer, rubber-necker or otherwise, get out there with your camera and capture some images for us. We will collect them together and show them at a meeting later in the year.
Hopefully some of you will have remembered World Photography Day on 19th August. At least one member did and I have the contribution which is very welcome. If you do have any images, can you please email them to me at firstname.lastname@example.org at the usual competition size/resolution. Alternatively, put them on a CD or in print format and I will collect them over the next few meetings.
The Committee feels that these collaborative projects/assignments are a great way to share/inspire ideas to run alongside our Competitions.
Look forward to hearing from you all. See you around, Geoff (September 2011)
