Entries into the Waikato Photographic Society Young Photographer Awards are only to be made through the school at which the student is currently enrolled.
A single member of staff or contact at each school should complete the Expression of Interest form so we have an idea of the number of entries we will be receiving. To download a form click the link below.
Each school may decide how to select their entries (maybe through a club or their own school competition).
The school contact is responsible for ensuring that all entries are delivered (together) by the Friday 7th October 2011.

Entries
- A school may have a maximum of 10 entries in each category
- A single student may have up to 3 entries into each category
- Each entry is to be given a title by the student
- Each entry is to be submitted both as a print and as a digital image on a CD (please save as the biggest jpeg file you have of your image).
- A single CD may be used for all a schools’ entries, Please label your CD clearly with your school’s name
- Each digital image should be named by the category followed by the title (e.g. if entering an image titled ‘Flying Fish’ into category 3 the digital name would be: 3flyingfish.jpeg)
- Each entry should include a description (max 150 words). These will be used at the judging stage to help the judges understand your thoughts about your photo. More experienced photographers could include technical choices made when taking the photo or in digital adjustments. These notes will also be used during the exhibition. These can be saved onto the CD and should be named to match the photo (e.g. 3flyingfish.doc)
- Prints can be matt or gloss and 12″ on their longest side (8×12″ is the standard but panoramas and other crops are acceptable).
- Prints and digital images should not include frames or borders.
- On the back of each print should be the category, title, student’s full name (as to be written on certificate) and school.
- Entries may be posted, couriered or hand delivered to Southwell School.
- No entries will be returned so please make sure you keep your own copy.
